Many of the aspects of employing and engaging coaches in your sports club are no different to the general consideration regarding employing staff. This applies to both paid and volunteer coaches and incorporates recruitment, retention and management. Coaches that feel valued are also likely to remain as part of your club for longer!
Recruiting coaches can sometimes prove difficult. If you feel you have exhausted your pool of past performers, interested parents, local teachers, etc. you may like to contact your local FE or HE establishment where there are generally a large number of sports students looking for coaching opportunities.
Also there are many examples of where coaches are deployed at more than one club. If you are having difficulty recruiting a suitable coach you may like to consider sharing a coach with a nearby club.
