In 2007 the Governing released their aspirational plans for every child in the country to have access to and participation in 2 hours high quality PE or sport in curcimculum time and to get involved in an addition 3 hours community based sport. This target is often reffered to as the 5 Hour Offer and it forms the basis of the governments PE and School Sport for Young People Strategy (PESSYP).
The PESSYP strategy aims to build on existing progress to date and has seen more investment come into youth sport. In order for the 5 hour offer to become a reality there is a real need to link school sport with community sport to ensure there is a seemless pathway for children and young people to move through and carry on with their sporting experiences.
In this section of the website you will find more information about what School Sport Partnerships are and do, how to link create strong links with schools and what the benefits are for your club!
