V-Involved Hertfordshire

Who are we?

The vinvolved team in Hertfordshire runs the new national youth volunteering programme in the county. It’s for all 16-25 year olds and harnesses their ideas, passions and enthusiasm in all sorts of ways, to deliver benefit to communities all over the county.

Key objectives of this new scheme are to embed a volunteering ethos, and increase the number of volunteering opportunities for young people. It brings much needed help to voluntary and not for profit organisations.

How do we do this?

We work very closely with Hertfordshire Volunteer Centres and with voluntary, community and not for profit organisations to develop capacity to use young volunteers. We also provide advice and training for organisations working with young volunteers.

We meet with organisations to discuss their volunteering needs and together we will develop opportunities that will appeal to young people. vinvolved will advertise the opportunities on www.vinspired.com the national portal where young people go to find out about volunteering in their local area. We will then meet the young people who respond and help them find opportunities that interest them.

Young people also come direct to our local vinvolved team looking to volunteer and we help them find suitable organisations to work with.

Benefits to you:

  • You will have the chance to have new young volunteers, that will help develop your charity/organisation & enable you to achieve greater things
  • It’s free to be involved & sign up to the vinvolved programme
  • vinvolved can offer you advice & training about working with young volunteers
  • We can undertake free CRB checks where necessary for young volunteers
  • Young people will bring their energy, enthusiasm & skills to your organisation. They will have new ideas that could invigorate the charity & inject new impetus into your activities
  • There will be many chances to publicise your organisation e.g being part of our volunteer speed matching events & doing presentations with us at local schools
